Easter egg hunt with approximately 50,000 eggs, inflatable bounce houses, free food and drinks, live music, a showing of the film "Hop" on an inflatable screen, prize giveaways, informational booths.  The event will start at 6 p.m. with the Easter egg hunt kicking off at 6:30 p.m.  The film will begin at 8 p.m.

Bringing the beach to Downtown Fayetteville on Friday, March 29!

Events include: shag lessons and demonstrations, Classic Soul at 3 p.m. at Parkview at 340 Hay Street with the Fayetteville Shag Club shagging on Hay Street; a Downtown Beach Crawl with beach bargains and discounts in downtown shops; screenings of the movie SHAG at the Cameo and at the Gilbert; and The Embers at the Metropolitan Room.  All proceeds benefit the Cameo Art House Theater.  Get your dancing shoes out and support a great cause!

Fourth Annual Easter Egg Scramble & Breakfast/Pictures with the Bunny

Join the Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation, in partnership with First Citizens Bank, for the Fourth annual Easter Egg Scramble, Saturday, March 30.

Beginning at 8 a.m. the Museum Foundation will host a pancake and sausage breakfast with the Easter Bunny in the Reflection Garden. Space is premium so register for the breakfast early. The breakfast costs $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Children 2 and under are free. Reservations are required by calling 643-2778. Advance tickets may also be purchased in the Museum Gift Shop.

From 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. there will be an Easter Egg Scramble for kids 10 and under. The Easter Egg Scramble has been divided into two scrambles for each of the five age groups.

10 a.m. four and five year olds
10:15 a.m. six and seven year olds
10:30 a.m. eight, nine and ten year olds

The Scramble is free to all children thanks to First Citizens Bank. All Egg Scrambles will be in the Museum’s Reflection Garden. Children should bring their own basket. One adult may accompany two year olds and younger on the field. Children must pick up their own eggs.

Photos with the Easter Bunny, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., cost only $5 and will be available just minutes after they are taken. For the deployed soldier, airman, sailor or marine photos can be emailed to you so you can send it on to any loved ones. Cost for an electronic photo is an additional $10.

Anne Frank: A History for Today and Art and Propaganda in Nazi-Occupied Holland

Both exhibits are on loan from The Anne Frank Center USA in New York and include guided docent tours for groups and individuals. The exhibits will serve as a springboard for community dialogue about the effects of intolerance in the past and today, and provide an opportunity to address the positive values of diversity and tolerance. An on-site bookstore will offer exhibit-related items.

Join us at the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum on Monday, March 11, 2013 at  9 a.m. to learn about Fayetteville’s Civil War History. Let the downtown landscape set the stage as we explore numerous sites on the anniversary date of Sherman’s arrival in Fayetteville in 1865. Tour includes a guided tour of the museum’s Civil War exhibit and the rare opportunity to tour the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry Museum and Armory. Other stops include the Market House and The Cape Fear River. Pre-registration is required for this three-hour tour. Call or visit the museum to register. Participants will travel via bus but the tour does involve some walking. The bus tour has a fee of $3.00 and space is limited. The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum is located at 325 Franklin St. in Historic Downtown Fayetteville. Admission to the museum is free.
