This November 25th, the Downtown Alliance welcomes all to experience the magic of the holiday season as we present “A Dickens Holiday” – a 22 year tradition of local shopping and holiday events. The festivities will begin at Franklin Square and center around our cohost, the Fayetteville Area History Museum located downtown at the intersection of Franklin and Maxwell as it turns into “Victoria Station” from 1p to 9p.
“A Dickens Holiday” event is a beloved community tradition, a day to step back in time, and a place to connect. Come dressed in Victorian styled outfits, if you wish. Stroll through time as you enjoy carollers, artisan street vendors, musical performers and entertainers Interact with “A Christmas Carol” characters and join our royal candlelight ceremony lighting of venue holiday lights.
We are pleased to announce the return of the iconic Victorian horse drawn carriage rides made possible by our partner, the Cool Spring Downtown District. Tickets will be available for purchase soon. The carriage rides will leave from Victoria Station and travel around the downtown area showcasing our amazing shops, restaurants and residences in our downtown historic district.
The magic continues with the Arts Council’s presentation of a “Holidays on Hay – a Season of Light” from 3p to 9p with vendors and entertainers, a Unity Candle lighting and the debut of downtown’s first drone light show. You can wander from street to street to each event with friends and family visiting during the holiday. Your local downtown businesses will be open as a one stop shopping and dining experience.
Make downtown your destination this November 25th as you help spread the Spirit of Dickens – a time of celebration, of life and love, as we honor old traditions and create new ones.
