GET READY ZOMBIES!!!! We hoped all was well….apparently, we were DEAD wrong. The undead of Fayetteville are coming back to celebrate the 11th Annual ZOMBIE WALK & PROM on Friday, October 22 from 6pm-10pm. This is a free undead family-friendly event. Come to downtown Fayetteville in all your best zombie costumes.

What’s the Zombie Walk? The Zombie Walk is an organized (as organized as zombies can be) public gathering of people dressed in zombie costumes (we hope these are only costumes).

*Traditionally, ZOMBIES gather to walk in processional format. However, in 2021, the procession has been cancelled and ZOMBIES are invited to rove the downtown streets, through public spaces – arms extended and all, to avoid further zombie mutations.

There’s a little undead in all of us, so bring out your best zombie and join the local undead in downtown Fayetteville. The infestation (gathering) starts at 6pm. The Costume Competition starts at 6:45 on the stage at Maxwell Street, with the Feeding (LIVE MUSIC FROM THE GUY UNGER BAND) starting shortly after.

Makeup artists will be on hand during the event to help bring out the undead for a monetary donation or arrive already in character using your own creativity.

ZOMBIE WALK & PROM SCHEDULE:

-6:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Awakening (event starts)

-6:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Feeding with LIVE MUSIC FROM THE GUY UNGER BAND on Maxwell Street.

-6:45 PM: Costume Contest begins on Maxwell Street. Participants need to meet at the stage

-7:00 – 10:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Feeding continues with THE GUY UNGER BAND.

During the event many of our downtown businesses will be open. Remember to shop, eat, and support local while you are downtown.

Costume Competition:

- Two categories: Ages 0 – 13 and 14-up. First, second and third prizes for our ZOMBIE King and Queens.
