  • The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum is the hub of history in Downtown Fayetteville. There is something here for everyone- from the history enthusiast to families looking for fun. The main museum is housed in a beautifully restored 1890s railroad depot. The museum and its annex, located next door, feature exhibits filled with unique artifacts, engaging images and countless stories of those who left their mark in our community. This local history museum is a wonderful educational resource for the Fayetteville/Cumberland County area. In addition to rotating museum exhibits and tour opportunities for various interests and age levels, we offer special programs throughout the year and a speakers bureau.

City Market at the Museum is a farmer’s and crafter’s market hosted on the museum grounds every Saturday year round from 9am-1pm.
