Our Story
Downtown Fayetteville has successfully reversed its image with a multitude of downtown revitalization projects that began in the early 90s and continue today through yearly Plans of Work. New additions, such as the NC Veterans Park, the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, the Fayetteville Area Transportation Museum, Linear Park, the 300 Block condos and townhouses and Festival Park, have all contributed to the changing face of the downtown area.
However, there is more work to be done! For some ideas on how far we might go together, please review the 2019 Urban Design Associates Downtown Plan: from a proposed $40m downtown Performing Arts Center, to pedestrian-friendly streetscaping, to greenspace connectivity from Fayetteville State University to the Cape Fear River Trail, to growing the resident population with affordable housing options, it’s exciting to consider our future… Click here to view the Downtown Urban Design Plan!

- A center for community activity
