Read Across America is a national program to promote reading among children and to celebrate beloved author Dr. Seuss. Merchants and businesses Downtown will offers arts and craft activities, storytime and other events for pre-school thru school age children. The day begins with an opening ceremony at the Fayetteville Police Department at 467 Hay Street. Kids will receive a map with all the merchants and businesses participating. At the end of the event all kids will receive a free book. And there will be a costume and hat contest with prizes!
