Mother’s Day is coming soon and what better way to celebrate than taking her out on a private carriage ride through the Cool Spring Downtown District on May 8th from 1pm-9pm.
The beautiful Queen Victoria carriage will be departing from the Cool Spring Downtown District’s office at 222 Hay Street and will take you on a pleasant ride through the district.
Tickets will be $50 per carriage ride. The carriage can fit on average 4 adults and 2 children. Once you purchase your ticket, you will receive an email to confirm how many riders we will be expecting for your carriage ride.

You can also call this number during regular hours or leave your name and number and someone from the Cool Spring Downtown District will call you.
In order to keep everyone COVID safe the below plans were reviewed and approved the Cumberland County Health Department
1. The Cool Spring Downtown District (CSDD) will only sell tickets for private carriage rides, ensuring that only persons from the same family (or their chosen “friendship bubble”) are on the carriage. Maximum ridership 6-people per carriage.
2. Each carriage will be sanitized in advance of the new party.
3. All volunteers and personnel conducting this activity will wear face coverings. Guidelines will be reviewed with the volunteers when they begin their shift.
4. Volunteers will alternate between carriage rides so that a volunteer who has just unloaded one group will have time to wash his or her hands while another volunteer is loading the next group.
5. Each group of riders will be spaced at least 6 feet apart while waiting to board. There will be well-marked areas for two groups – the one “next up” and the one after that.
6. Riders disembarking from the carriage will be asked to move to the right, up to the front of the horses for photographs. The group that is loading will approach from the left of the carriage after volunteers have cleaned the carriage.
7. Tickets will be sold in advance in order to eliminate large gatherings inside the ticket office in the Cool Spring Downtown District Office (222 Hay Street). There will be an attendant present behind the ticket counter to answer questions and confirm reservations. The number of people inside the Cool Spring Downtown District will be restricted to 10. A volunteer will greet you outside the ticket area to confirm your advance ticket, reducing traffic in and out of the ticket office.
8. Customers will be reminded to bring their own face coverings and to wear them at all times.
9. Volunteers will wipe down the carriage seats and handrails with a disinfectant solution between each group of riders and dispose of the paper towels properly. They may wash their hands or use hand sanitizer afterward, or wear disposable gloves to protect their hands from getting dried out.
10. Cool Spring Downtown District will ensure that adequate sanitizer and paper towels and gloves are available at all times.
11. Cool Spring Downtown District will post these guidelines so that they are readily visible and also display a poster reminding customers of the “3 W’s- wear your mask, wait 6-feet apart, and wash your hands often”
